DOCENTE OMNES GENTES

'Going out, therefore, teach all nations.' - Matthew 28:19

Testimony to the Gospel

St. Anthony, you walked in the footsteps of our Saviour and Teacher by accepting with love the challenges of life. Help me to live in your Gospel spirit by accepting patiently God’s word and teaching by word and action others whatever God permits for my own growth in holiness.

DOMINUS MEUS ET DEUS MEUS

"My Lord and My God" (John 20:28)

Value of Trust

St. Anthony, you were challenged by change and new experiences so many times in the course of our life. Help me not to be afraid of the changes that will take place in my own life and to realize that by dealing with them I grow in faith.

ET IN TERRA PAX  (hominibus bonae voluntatis)

And on earth, peace to people of good will (Lk 2:14)

Spirit of Peace

St. Anthony, you led many from darkness to light by your preaching and works of kindness. May I also become light to others by sharing my experience, knowledge and faith, and be a radiant instrument of peace.

PETUNT ET ACCIPIUNT (Iuvenes et cani)

Young or old  his help implore, are bestowed  (from Si quaeris...)

Spirit of prayer for help

St. Anthony, you lived in the midst of storm and danger and were exposed to evils, yet you kept a prayerful spirit. Keep me prayerful and surround me by your constant care.

The leprosy and demons flee (from Si quaeris...)

Spiritual and body wellness.

St. Anthony, you experienced in your ministry as a priest the power of God healing the wounds through your touch. Heal me and my dear ones according to God’s will.

CEDUNT (MARE), VINCULA

The sea withdraws and fetters break…

(from Si quaeris...)

Spirit of contrition

St. Anthony, in your preaching of the Gospel you proclaimed that God forgives sinners and understands our human frailty. Help me to acknowledge my trespasses against God and act as a compassionate and expiate person.

MEMBRA, RESQUE PERDITAS

Withered limbs he doth restore

(from Si quaeris...)

Spirit of persistence

St. Anthony, you felt grateful for the countless blessings that flowed into your life from the hands of God. May I also gratefully recognize God’s presence in the events of my daily life and be thankful to my brothers and sisters.

MORS, ERROR, CALAMITAS (FUGIUNT)

Death, error, all calamities (are conquered)

Spirit of gratitude

St. Anthony, you felt grateful for the countless blessings that flowed into your life from the hands of God. May I also gratefully recognize God’s presence in the events of my daily life and be thankful to my brothers and sisters.

PRAYER OF PETITION

Holy St. Anthony, you are the consolation of so many people.

We come to invoke your help, confident of experiencing your goodness and power.

Pray for us to the Father of mercies that we may obtain the graces we need for ourselves and for our loved ones.

                   (Pause for your Personal Petitions)

True follower of St. Francis, put into our hearts the flame of your love that we may love our merciful Father in heaven and our neighbors as ourselves. Pray that we may fulfill the will of God and live the way Jesus shows us in the Gospel. Be a guide for us this day that we may recognize the opportunities God gives us to be helping and caring. Assist us in keeping the promises we made at our Baptism. Help us to obtain the grace to walk in the light    of faith and to proclaim that faith by the way we live.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Feast Day: August 26

Tradition attributes the icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa to Saint Luke. The earliest historical sources reach as far back as 326 AD.

Following a lengthy journey, in 1382, the icon was entrusted to the Pauline Fathers at Jasna Góra (Bright Mountain) Monastery

in Częstochowa, Poland. A copy of the famous painting was blessed at Saint Anthony's Church in Regina on April 30, 1983.

Pod Twoją obronę uciekamy się, święta Boża Rodzicielko,

naszymi prośbami racz nie gardzić w potrzebach naszych,

ale od wszelakich złych przygód racz nas zawsze wybawiać,

Panno chwalebna i błogosławiona.

O Pani nasza,

Orędowniczko nasza,

Pośredniczko nasza,

Pocieszycielko nasza.

Z Synem swoim nas pojednaj,

Synowi swojemu nas polecaj,

swojemu Synowi nas oddawaj.

Amen.

Under thy protection

we seek refuge,

Holy Mother of God;

despise not our petitions

in our needs,

but from all dangers

deliver us always,

Virgin Glorious and Blessed

Sous l'abri de ta miséricorde,

nous nous réfugions, Sainte Mère de Dieu.

Ne méprise pas nos prières

quand nous sommes dans l'épreuve,

mais de tous les dangers

délivre-nous toujours,

Vierge glorieuse, Vierge bienheureuse.

Bajo tu amparo nos acogemos,

santa Madre de Dios;

no deseches las súplicas

que te dirigimos en nuestras necesidades,

antes bien, líbranos de todo peligro,

¡oh siempre Virgen, gloriosa y bendita!

Devotion to St. John Paul II

O God, who are rich in mercy

and who willed that Saint John Paul the Second

should preside as Pope over your universal Church,

grant, we pray, that instructed by his teaching,

we may open our hearts to the saving grace of Christ,

the sole Redeemer of mankind.

Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of The Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Boże, bogaty w miłosierdzie, z Twojej woli święty Jan Paweł II, papież,

kierował całym Kościołem, † spraw, prosimy, * abyśmy dzięki jego nauczaniu

z ufnością otworzyli nasze serca na działanie zbawczej łaski Chrystusa,

jedynego Odkupiciela człowieka.

Który z Tobą żyje i króluje w jedności Ducha Świętego,

Bóg, przez wszystkie wieki wieków. Amen.
